Absolute rubbish for power tools and hand tools

I bought these clamps expecting superior quality, especially given the Fluke name, and am very disappointed. Firstly the rubber boot goes too far and it will be difficult for you to clamp the wire and secondly the alligator clip will NOT snap like a resistor on a small wire without it slipping through the clamps and not working. Contact. My cheap radio store leads have better alligator clips than these. Unfortunately I cut the rubber cover in such a way that I can't get hold of things and getโ€ฆ

Pros
  • SureGrip accessories are designed to increase stability in slippery hands
Cons
  • Out of style

Thoughtful design - manual required

They are very well made and the attention to detail is impressive. They insulated the outside of the clamps but retained the inside grip points in the clamps. Oddly enough, the probes they come with don't have an instruction manual, and without one you can't attach these clamps to the probes. The trick to using it is that the stylus retracts its shields by rotating the top of the stylus, exposing the threads that these clamps screw onto. I love dipsticks, but sometimes you have to click andโ€ฆ

Necessity must be activated.

Fluke digital multimeters (DMMs) are sold with TL75 hard point test leads with only the probe end tip. AC175 alligator clips attach directly to the probe ends of these test leads and are a tight fit. I don't know why DMM manufacturers don't include them by default. Troubleshooting almost always requires an alligator clip, at least on the common wire (neutral or negative DC). Fluke isn't the only major manufacturer doing the same. Klein Tools does the same. In order to have test leads withโ€ฆ

Great big clips for poles or grommets

These are really great clips. They are large with a wide jaw opening. Unlike other cables that are limited to opening by a rubber boot, they can open more than 3/4 inch to snap onto the main lugs or screws. They are insulated from the outside to the tip for safety, leaving only the inside jaws exposed. Bite is excellent and feels firm on a flat or square surface. These combined features make these clamps some of the best I've seen and by far the safest. Now they are a bit expensive and veryโ€ฆ

great alternative to standard 2mm probe clips

I used to review the Fluke AC285 alligator clips. These are her younger brothers. Like the 285, the AC220 requires a double banana jack test lead to function. I use Fluke TL224 silicon wires. However, after searching, I found two other manufacturers that make this type of leash. However, I prefer Fluke silicone rubber wires. Once connected, these test leads (which are larger than I expected, see photo on product page) are Fluke's 'premium' answer to the more traditional 'pointy' alligatorโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Alligator clip set for electrically connecting or fixing objects

  • Other interesting options are available.

Great big clips for rails or tips

These are really great clips. They are large with a wide jaw opening. Unlike other cables that are limited in opening by a rubber boot, they can open more than 3/4 inch to snap onto main grommets or bolts. They are insulated from the outside to the tip for safety, leaving only the inside jaws exposed. Bite is excellent and feels firm on a flat or square surface. These combined features make these clamps some of the best I've seen and by far the safest. Now they are a bit expensive and very big.

The product was not sent as shown in the photo

So you sent me the wrong product. What I ordered in the picture was a bare metal alligator clip. That way I can attach other alligator clips to it for continuity. The ones I received are metal insulated so I can't attach other alligator clips to them. So either the part number was wrong or the picture on the website was wrong. The sleeve that you insert the probes into has a spring sleeve so that they hold onto the probes well and don't wobble a lot. I was trying to save some money. Years ago I

Typical Fluke excellence. Part of a modular test lead set.

There are two main types of test lead alligator clips. The most common are rubber-coated clamps that either friction fit or screw onto the tester's 2mm metal tip. lead probe. A good example of this is the Fluke AC175. This construction has several major disadvantages: First, the clip can only be opened a little before it encounters resistance when attempting to stretch the rubber boot. Secondly, access to the object is only possible directly due to the rubber sleeve (restricted mountingโ€ฆ
