Have you ever had to run, say, 10G Ethernet over a kilometer of cable and then convert it back to copper? Believe it or not, having a server room is a phenomenon! Slow coaxial cables came along in the 80's and this little tiny box transmits multimedia data powerfully with fast light. More personally, for example for my home or small office, I like to play with fiber optic cables to my house. Do I need that much strength? Probably no. Or maybe it's the future to make my house ASAP! However, it is very interesting to move data so quickly. It is definitely not suitable for home use. It's set up for the pros. What I know is that this converter is smart, fast and decent.
