Good pair of strong 3/4 inch staples. I mainly use staples for felling trees and pulling out the root system. When using my winch (heavy duty 3 ton) I often have to use more than one strap/rope. Using 3/4" steel cleats to connect the straps/cables allows me to pull with confidence. I've never had a broken ankle on me. One of the truly unique qualities of these particular restraints is that the product information page states 'Working Load Limit' rather than just 'Breaking Limit'. In this case, the supplier specifies a tensile strength of 20 tons (45,000 pounds) and a working load limit of 4 3/4 tons (10,500 pounds). To convert tons to pounds, the US seems to use "long tons" rather than the usual "short tons". I believe the conversion should be done with short barrels, which would give a 40,000lb tensile strength and a 9,500lb working load limit. In any case, it's very unusual for a supplier to give a working load limit, they usually only give a tensile strength as it's much higher and sounds better. Unfortunately, using restraints to the limit can lead to disaster. It's nice to see a vendor providing the full picture and not just what sounds good. Even with heavy use, these restraints should last at least a lifetime and are likely in good condition to be passed on to grandchildren. Highly recommended.
