Review on Ignited Kinetic Power Meat Thermometer: Battery-Free Digital Instant Read Waterproof Food Thermometer for Kitchen Cooking, BBQ, Grill, Steak (Blue-Gray) by Mary Medema

(Update 12-3-21): After a little over a month of use (and babysitting) the accuracy has dropped significantly, instead of 32.5°F in the ice water test it NOW reaches 33.4°F after repeated testing and only reaches this temperature after 7-8 seconds. Tested multiple times with boiling water and NOW it peaks at 210.8°F (at sea level) and then it gets weird it starts to drop below 210.8°F if left in boiling water for no more than 2 seconds , e.g. 210°F, 209°F, 208°F, 207°F, 206°F and then stops at 206°F. With? These tests were carried out according to strict consumer standards, just like before. 2 stars instead of 1 for the design and the excellent packaging of the thermometer. (Definitely a shame, but I'll definitely be back.) (Formerly a 4-star review) - The detailed features section in the Revain list section states a reading time of 2-3 seconds, and the instructions that came with the thermometer contradict the product images on Revain showing times ranging from 3 to 5 seconds. After testing the thermometer I received, I can tell you that mine reads the full temperature in 3-5 seconds, NOT 2-3 seconds. Which is still fast enough! Well, as far as accuracy goes, my thermometer read 32.5°F in the ice water test and 212.7°F in the boiling water test. So the accuracy is +/- LESS than ONE full degree Fahrenheit, which is perfectly acceptable. The body of the "wiggly kinetic thermometer" seems strong enough even when shaken. Although the probe on mine looks roughly textured and NOT polished smooth like other probes that typically have thermometers, it's almost as if they machined it and forgot to send it to the polishing station before sending it to the nearest assembly shop. I say that because there are machined lines all around the probe barrel, almost as if it were roughly ground stainless steel. This is by no means essential, but cleaning the probe makes it a little more difficult to clean the probe. As for "PRESENTATION" they easily get 5 stars out of 5. They definitely did NOT skimp on the gift box they wrapped it in, nor how they even wrapped the gift box itself, over the top but very nice! Overall, I only have a few minor things: 1. Polish the probe smooth. 2. Even if it's a kinetic thermometer, put some kind of backlight or NON-BUBBLING luminous background, or even better a REVERSE COLOR LCD display where the background is the black part and the numbers are the neutral background of the LCD Display (I've seen such a digital watch) for readability in low light conditions. Those little things aside, I still give Shaky Kinetic Thermometer 4.5 stars out of 5. Half a star off for the unpolished probe.
