I would warn my fellow gardeners against purchasing this item if you plan on making holes in your lawn. Our bulb planting project was put on hold when this equipment broke on the third hole we drilled in the lawn. The augur's lack of a pointed leading edge rendered it ineffective at cutting grass. I sharpened it on a bench grinder and it has improved its performance. But the pronounced hesitation showed that the instrument was eccentric. And soon the shank simply separated from the augur, rendering it useless.
