Should be stronger and sharper

I would warn my fellow gardeners against purchasing this item if you plan on making holes in your lawn. Our bulb planting project was put on hold when this equipment broke on the third hole we drilled in the lawn. The augur's lack of a pointed leading edge rendered it ineffective at cutting grass. I sharpened it on a bench grinder and it has improved its performance. But the pronounced hesitation showed that the instrument was eccentric. And soon the shank simply separated from the augur…

Holy cow, this is unreal!

At first I was optimistic about this little device, but wow, just wow! found it and said what the heck let's try it. Tried it out for a chuckle to see how well or badly it would work so we could gauge our time and if we needed a shovel. Hole. I had a full hole 9-10 inches deep in 10 seconds with completely loose soil in it. It was in a tough pack of mud that is difficult to dig through, and this tool got through very quickly. Why didn't I buy this many years ago?

Maybe I just didn't know they existed but damn I'm glad I bought this. I wasn't sure if they would even work, so I looked for the cheapest I could get through Prime and this was it. new drilling machine. Why didn't I buy it many years ago?
