Review on Ratchet Shimano MF-TZ500 / 7 speeds art. ZSM22525 by Adam Koodziejek ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

In principle, the old 6-speed ratchet suited me, its stars have the following set of teeth 14-16-18-21-24-28, but when I chose a new direction of skating, I realized that I needed a lower gear, I was looking for a 7-speed 14 -16-18-21-24-28-34, with the preservation of what was on the previous one, such exist, but are not on sale (everywhere they are over). This MF-TZ500 ratchet (14-16-18-20-22-24-34) has a big jump between first gear and second gear (34-24=10), but when I tried to ride the old ratchet without using first gear (28 teeth), then I realized that, in principle, when it is not needed, it is not needed, and when it is needed, you want it (first gear) to be as low as possible and, then the idea is 14-16-18 -20-22-24-34, incorporated by Shimano engineers into the MF-TZ500 ratchet, became close and understandable to me. P. S1.: If you don’t ride in the mountains, then don’t take a mountain bike for show off, because it is expensive, it has practically no wings on wheels and it has a heavy ride; P. S2 .: If you are not an athlete, then do not take a sports bike for the sake of show-off, because it is expensive, there are practically no wings on wheels and you won’t ride it faster anyway; P. S3.: If you want to quickly and linearly change the speeds of the bike, then do not take a bike with several leading stars, because this makes it more expensive, half the speeds duplicate each other, and the sequence of switching speeds using two shifters is not trivial; PS4: If you buy a bike for your type of riding (mountain, city or sport) and keep it in good condition, you will enjoy riding it, regardless of its cost and "show"; PS5: To lubricate the chain, use any chain oil, to lubricate the bearings (if you do not ride at temperatures below -25 degrees), use the usual 2022 grease grease, but for flushing out old grease at home, there is nothing better than Kalosh gasoline; : In the photo there is a bike with this ratchet, assembled on the basis of Stels Pilot 850

Pros
  • A ratchet in proper Shimano packaging that I will later use to store my old ratchet. I haven’t put it on the bike yet, but the quality looks excellent and the bearing is pretty well lubricated, this can be seen from the leaked lubricant and can be heard from the very muffled crackle of the ratchet crackers.
Cons
  • Leaked grease must be carefully removed with a napkin. PS: this is more of an advice than a drawback;
