A tool for picky eaters! - Kitchen & Dining

I LOVE THIS TIMER! For us our 5 year old takes an hour+ to get something to eat. It hasn't gotten any better since he went to kindergarten, where they only have 30 minutes, and he comes home with half his lunch uneaten. I was looking for a basic egg timer but took a chance. For those of you who have the same problem, here are the rules for the timer we created: 1- Only mom and dad touch the timer. 2- He should start with the product he "thinks" he won't like. and lastly go to his favorite meal. 3- When time is up and he hasn't eaten within reasonable limits, he skips his favorite food. 4- And of course, apart from dinner, there will be no dessert. He tried well (75% is reasonable for us and I serve quite small portions) 5- We give him about 25 minutes for an average meal, more or less depending on the meals served. timer and it worked fine. A few weeks went by and one day it happened that my emotionally sensitive one started crying as if he was being punished. I reminded him that the timer wasn't meant to punish him or make him feel guilty, just to let him watch the time pass while he was at the table. It comforted him to know that it wasn't because he was in trouble, just to show him how long it was taking. found that he likes it! I'm not saying this timer is a miracle, but for us it was a miracle!
