Review on Gates 22825 Lower Radiator Hose by Bill Russett

2003 Toyota Camry V6 3.0 - Fits perfectly!

I've looked at this before but it must have gotten lost somewhere. :( Anyway, this is perfect for a 2003 Toyota Camry V6 3.0 and I reused the old constant tension clamps as they keep a constant tension on the hose even as the hose gets old. If you replace the old lower radiator hose after draining removing the coolant For the radiator, be careful that there is some coolant at the end of the hose that connects to the radiator, a bucket/drain pan and some old rags may be required, I usually try to use Toyota parts but Gates has a good reputation so I felt safe using their hoses PS-I used this hose when I also replaced the radiator with a Denso 221-0504 radiator almost damaged my engine started leaking but luckily I noticed the coolant temp gauge going up I deformed the clamp using regular pliers (as it was difficult to get the clamp closed open and slide it to where it should be), or I just didn't have the clamp installed properly on the hose over the fitting on the underside of the radiator to secure it. Anyway, I decided to check all 4 clamps on the radiator and swap 2 of the 4 just in case. I also bought a collar release tool for about $30 to make the job easier. These constant tension clamps are very durable but difficult to manipulate without tools. I wasted coolant trying to avoid buying a $30 tool and could ruin my engine - not one of my best decisions.
