Review on Minuteman International Burgundy Oriental Wool Hearth Rug: Stylish Half Round Mat for Fireplace Safeguarding by Louis Nakashima

Nice thick stitch, nice design that matches the rectangular version and protects our living room carpet from amber damage. We use this rug in front of our fireplace insert to protect our living room rug from hot coals that somehow end up on the floor. We first bought a half round from another company a few years ago and it didn't let the coals reach the main carpet but even at its size one or two rolled onto the carpet. So we bought a Minuteman International H-32 Oriental rectangular Minuteman to put in front of the semicircular ones. Problem solved. But over the years the edge of another brand of semicircles started to diverge and unravel, so this year we replaced it with this rug. The pattern is the same as the rectangular rug I bought two years ago, just the color is a little lighter. It is thicker than other semicircular or rectangular ones. Wool rugs are good because when amber or charcoal falls on them, they give off an odor that alerts you to that fact. Simply pick up the hot charcoal with fireplace mitts and place it back in the fireplace. Just wipe where the charcoal fell and you'll hardly notice. I don't know if it's more expensive than the rugs you can find in other stores, but I'm happy to pay more for the protection this rug offers in front of the fireplace.
