After looking for a good fireplace rug, I bought this one and was not disappointed! It looks good and gives us a comfortable place to sit or stand on our brick fireplace. Coals have fallen on it and it doesn't melt like most rugs. Just clean it and it will look like new.

This item is not advertised properly; it comes from Kohl and is made of nylon. It's thin and cheap. Please do not purchase this item if you intend to put it in front of your stove. Very disappointed to have been misled. return the goods; You also have to go to Kohl's shop to get back. Just wrong

The carpet is made of high quality materials. I bought another rug that said it was for fireplaces but it just burned when the ash fell on it. I can say that this one is really fire resistant. It also looks very nice and stays in place quite well (it moves a bit but not as much as my old rug).

The carpet is not only beautiful, but also really fireproof. I threw a hot coal at it and picked it up immediately, but unlike the carpet it replaced, it didn't start burning a hole right away - it didn't even leave a mark. The rug is dense, with a thick pile and rich colors in a traditional oriental style. Looks great in front of the fireplace and protects my carpet from burns. The carpet is beautiful! well made, it's very thick, big, it's exactly what i was looking for, but the only reason i gave it a 3 is because it's supposed to be blue, it's not blue, it's black, it doesn't even look dark to me -blue. I have contacted the seller and am waiting for news from him. The one I have is about twice as dark as pictured which is good for us as it will work in front of an open flame... and will get its fair share of embers and ash .
