This is NOT 1/4 " in hardware
As some others have said but I missed it, this is NOT 1/4" in hardware. They are 6mm tall. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference (.250" vs. .236" or about 1/64" smaller. Again, not much. But inserted into the 1/4" hole, they are very loose and can easily fall out The shelf is almost the right width to hold these pins deep in their sockets, they probably work well in 1/4" holes on each side, and it's all shifted to one side, they start very close to that I ended up buying clear plastic rods to replace them. Their pins are actually 1/4" in diameter and fit much more securely.
