When I opened these knives I was a bit disappointed. I bought these to use as a "camping knife" when we go camping. The knives are still sharp. But after hand holding and washing them, I noticed more about them. The handles are made of cheap plastic and the metal of the knives is also remarkably cheap. Knives are heavily curved in the metal and where the handle meets the blade. I would be really, really scared of cutting anything that requires more than moderate pressure for fear of breaking the handle. Due to the very cheap metal used for the blade, I assume it will need to be sharpened frequently to avoid having to apply a lot of pressure and to avoid possible breakage for as long as possible. But then again, they were bought because they had lids. for every single knife to be used camping and not for everyday use or even heavy use. In short, just know what you are paying for a knife set and meet your expectations with this product. A quality knife set for your kitchen is worth the investment.
