Review on NexusLink Gaming Router Extender - Enhanced Online Gaming and Streaming, High-Speed AC1750, MU-MIMO for Low Ping I Single Unit by Antoine Scisson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good! for computers and accessories

I have 200Mbps Spectrum internet service and have been trying to connect my computer to my router at full speed for over a year! Wired ethernet is out of the question as it's impossible to run cables in an existing building and the best I could get with MOCA was 100 megabytes. Put it down to being in a condo and not being able to fully track all the splitters etc and even with a gig MOCA something limits it to 100MB. The WiFi connection from the WiFi card in the computer to the router (Netgear's best line) just won't exceed 80 megabytes, so I ended up finding this system on Revain mostly for gaming, but there's no reason why it can't from Station to Station should work station as advertised. One device plugged into the router with an ethernet cable, and then 50 feet down the hall, in two doors, another device installed. Ran it in about 20 seconds and initially only got 40 megabytes and the high ping (150ms) was devastating! BUT! After a few moments, the ping rose to 40ms, which is about normal, and the speed exceeded 200Mbps! It seemed like the setup needed to find the right channel or something and it's been running at these high speeds ever since. VERY happy and hope it stays that way. Sometimes it takes about a second to reach full speed, but it happens every time. Might be a quirk in the router etc but after a moment or so, full speed. I have to say, very simple setup. Connect each device to a power source and connect an Ethernet cable to one port on the router and the other to a gigabit port on the computer. After about a minute, I hit the WPS setup button on each device and voila! They found each other and have been inseparable ever since. I have to run the connection monitor on my computer to detect intermittent disconnects, but after an hour it doesn't drop at all. And it measures the waste in less than a second. Therefore, it is now highly recommended to cause connection problems between the computer and the router beyond what the router's wireless connection and the computer's wireless connection can offer, at least in my situation. I can't test higher speeds since 200 megabytes is all I have, but it handles it well. If anything changes over time I'll update this, but after trying many different ways to connect this is the best I've found. A bit expensive, but damn better than powerline adapters (tried everything). Doesn't work very well, at least in my setup and used elsewhere, and not very impressed. I like MOKA, but if your cable and splitters don't allow more than 100MB, then it's no good. And if you have ANY 100MB adapters on your system, the standard gigabyte MOCA has a maximum of 100MB. Again, not for gaming, just as a high-speed wireless connection between the router (using Gigaport. NOT the WI-Fi feature) and the computer. Satisfied customer. Update: 6 weeks later still stable and no dropouts. Even after several power outages. Didn't have to adjust anything.
