Quality replacement for an existing key fob.

Bought to replace 2x key fobs for Kia Soul 2013. Both key fobs are sturdy and well made. I had to replace both key fobs that came with the used car. It turns out that holding hands while the hand sanitizer isn't completely dry can often cause erosion of the rubber surface. The hardest part was separating the original key fob to remove the key piece and circuit board as both were glued down with what I can only assume was superglue. To fix this I used a cotton swab soaked in nail polish remover and gently ran it over the seams to separate the two halves. We tried not to use too much nail polish remover to avoid getting it on the circuit board. Used a butter knife around the stitching along with some nail polish and it eventually came off. I also noticed that I can't use the button that came with it and I had to use the original button along with the original key fob. I suspect if I separate the old key from the original metal "swingarm" by removing the small roll pin and put it on the new "swingarm", you could use the new knob as well. Since my old swingarm didn't break at the original key, I simply moved both knobs with the key. Other models may not have the halves glued and will hopefully match my model and year, but if you don't have a little patience they will fall apart. Luckily I didn't have the chip installed, but if you watch other videos all you have to do is grab it with a soldering iron and gently melt it from the back until you pop the chip out and glue it into the new key fob. I hope this information is helpful.
