I have had multiple reverse osmosis and reverse osmosis systems and water tanks for over 10 years. I'm a reefer and need to do around 10-15G water changes every few weeks. Therefore, I am very familiar with the exchange of cartridges. My system comes with this flimsy plastic key and I never had a problem with it a few weeks ago. When I opened one of the cases, the plastic key snapped, leaving a 2.5 inch deep cut on my left thumb! It's not life threatening, but it was an uncomfortable experience. Anyway, I immediately looked at Revane and found a metal key. It's a bit more expensive than I expected, but having the right tool will save you time and injuries! With this key I was able to open the same canister with no problem! This is an all-metal key with a plastic handle. Another plus is that it has a little directional arrow that shows how to release the canister! :D
