Well, when I unpacked and assembled it for the first time, I thought it was a toy vacuum cleaner because it's so light. However, when you use it, it packs a lot of power and picks up great. It's a bit noisy, but my dog isn't scared of it, and she was scared of my last full-size vacuum cleaner. The only thing I would wish is if it had a brush and not just a long strip to draw in the dirt. I mainly use it on carpet and as it's just a strip it doesn't create much movement on the carpet and my carpet stays flat. I cut slits in the strip to make it work like a rug rake so it pulls up more and straightens my rug. I have a dog and a cat so I vacuum every day. In general, it copes with the task.
