Whimsical But Powerful: Read Below

This device is highly customizable. Of course, the UI issues are essentially correct. However, with a little patience and research, you'll figure out what this thing is capable of (think Windows and Mac). The learning curve for this is not long - just give it a try. RM has a unique (quirky) way of doing things. Not bad, just different. I bought mine on sale at Walmart for $59 (10/6/2019) after returning the Garmin 51 LM-ex (a really flimsy device at twice the price). This device is better. You can see all the features it has on the web. Some notable features: You can set how many miles per hour the posted speed limit is exceeded before the speed alert alerts you. The device lets you know when the displayed speed limit along the road decreases, and you can adjust how far ahead it tells you (55 mph reduced to 40 mph, etc.), how far ahead the turn-by-turn directions appear (a row of three _2 miles, half a mile, quarter mile etc - each is adjustable Cons: Voice sounds a bit cheap, touchscreen isn't as sensitive as a smartphone (think $60 vs $300 - but if you use the included works quite well with a stylus) As with Magellan, there is only 1 day card and 1 night card (although I like these cards better than my Magellan Road Mate cards), some "tricky addresses" are not recognized (although other devices take one Address and then lead you to the wrong place.) The search function can be improved, for example, category For restaurants, hotels, etc. is fine, but it does not contain categories like parks . And they can be difficult to find so enter some unique categories to look for. And as others have said, every time you turn it on, you have to accept the user agreement and run the mode you want. IE Map vs Tools etc. Even with these little quirks and after going through all the menus/options I'm still amazed at what $59 can do.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Nothing Here
