I was doing a ground planting at the base of a house and needed to put a cement board on the plaster to protect the house. These screws worked well using the recommended (included) 5/32 masonry bit for cement board and a smaller size (I used 1/8) for drilling pilot holes in plaster. Using the included masonry bit the screws weren't able to 'bite' enough for a secure fit. They were hand tightened to prevent stripping with a power tool. The joints were sealed with tile putty and adhesive tape and any fastening screw. The entire barrier was then painted with hydrostatic paint and allowed to dry before being filled with garden soil. It could be remodeled, but the house is a listed building.
