I have already requested and processed the return and reshipment of these pans within 10 minutes of opening the box. Cast iron is painted black. It's not seasoned. This is painted cast iron. Two chips on the edges of a deep plate and a hole inside. The shavings already had some rust, meaning any water that seeps under those shavings will continue to rust the iron and cause more shavings to come loose. Do not bother me. I prefer to buy old used cast iron, clean and season it myself, which I will do. Remember - this is not aged cast iron. Newly aged cast iron has a dark gray tint. This is a cover.
