Review on 🐎 Enhance Horsepower with the K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for 2010-2015 Chevy Camaro, 6.2L V8, 63-3074 by Gage Lawson

First of all, I have to say that I am completely inexperienced when it comes to car care / repairs / tuning etc. I hardly know how to change oil and never do it myself. But the instructions were so clear, accompanied by photos for each step, I thought I could do it. It only took me about 1.5 hours on my own. I put the air sensor backwards (the instructions say to check again) and the result was that the car stopped in just a few seconds. After figuring out what I did I fixed it in about 2 minutes. It's easy to put it in backwards since Chevy has a reversing sensor. I only had two minor issues with the K&N product. First I had to put in a screw and washer, but the screw was too big for the washer. No big deal, I just missed it and it doesn't seem necessary. Second, everything is in the metric system. I had to borrow a set of metric hex wrenches and sockets. Annoying, but hardly a serious problem. As for the reception itself, wow! I'll be working on the exhaust tomorrow, but I can already hear the improved engine roaring and I think I'll notice a difference in performance. K&N says 18hp and that might be too little to actually notice (about a 5% increase on wheels) so maybe I'm imagining it, but I don't think so. It definitely seems faster. Also, new devices actually take up less space under the hood, which is always a good thing in a modern car. It also looks sleeker, not like people were staring under my hood as I drove by. All in all, I'm impressed in almost every way. Another note: the rubber grommet around the heat shield has to be installed by the user (looks like it was factory installed) and it's quite a hassle. Bring a serious knife as you will need to cut it and it has metal in it. Scissors might not be a bad idea.
