🐎 Enhance Horsepower with the K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for 2010-2015 Chevy Camaro, 6.2L V8, 63-3074 Review

Throttle response seems to be slightly better on this unit than the stock air cleaning system that came with my 2015 Camaro 2SS/RS. I noticed an increase in fuel economy from about 20mpg to nearly 24mpg for the LS3 6.2L V8. not bad. I am interested in putting this on DYNO and see if there is an HP boost it looks like.

Easy to install on my 2014 Camaro in about an hour, sounds amazing! A definite increase in horsepower, but an increase in gas mileage has yet to be determined. I think I'm losing gas because the sound and power make me want to hit it all the time. Definitely worth it, this CAI is the best choice for the price. Easy to do yourself even if you are not mechanically savvy, the instructions are very well explained. Must buy for your new Camaro!

The packaging isn't the best and the heat shield has a lot of slots that let hot air through when the car isn't running at speed. The only notable improvement is the WOT where it makes a growl from the engine bay and my Camaro seems to pull a little harder at the WOT. Part throttle handling is better with the stock airbox, and the NPP exhaust note seems to sound better with the stock airbox when accelerating with part throttle. I love the sound of that K&N intake in my Camaro. I went with this version to keep the "stock" look of the car, but the sound is not "stock" at all! Relatively easy installation, installation took about 45 minutes. I also bought a K&N filter cleaning kit and a K&N replacement filter so I can clean and oil one filter and then replace it with a new one. Published literature from the K&N website lists an 18+ horsepower increase in peak horsepower. I'm not disputing that at all, but it's important to remember that this increase is only about 5% in typical applications. You might not "feel" a 5 percent increase in power from a car unless you carefully time your acceleration from 0 to 60 mph or run 1/4 mile time/trap.
