Review on ๐ŸŽ Enhance Horsepower with the K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for 2010-2015 Chevy Camaro, 6.2L V8, 63-3074 by David Finley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install, engine sound is great.

Published literature from the K&N website lists an 18+ horsepower increase in peak horsepower. I'm not disputing that at all, but it's important to remember that this increase is only about 5% in typical applications. You might not "feel" a 5 percent increase in power from a car unless you carefully time your acceleration from 0 to 60 mph or run 1/4 mile time/trap. So please don't expect your car to suddenly rear wheel and break the sound barrier. But the bottom line is this: I have used K&N CAI kits on 4 different cars back to back for the last 10 years and they really increase performance, especially in combination with other modifications (exhaust). You might not feel it, but the extra power is there if you carefully measure the power. The K&N is consistently the most affordable bolt-on mod you can make in terms of "dollars per horsepower". This is a must-have for those who want to squeeze extra performance out of their car. Another nice perk is the extra sound - it's GREAT when you hit the gas. The factory airbox actually kills the engine (not very well). The K&N kit won't make the engine any louder at everyday driving speeds, but when you open it up you'll feel a thunderous rumble from the front - it sounds great. I looked at 6 other induction kits for my Camaro, 5 of which posted their dyno charts online. None could match the horsepower and torque gains of a K&N kit. Explore it yourself and you will see what I mean. K&N kit for 3-6 hp more than all competitors. This particular kit installs easily on the Camaro and I had no trouble following the instructions. I installed it in 35 minutes and took my time. However, it helped that I'd done this with other K&N kits before, so it wasn't my first time. I've always noticed some difficulty keeping the rubber trim in place at tight corners on the black panels that come in K&N products. I just add some glue to hold them in place. This is a great product and you will see many of these on the 5th generation Camaro at local auto shows. It's a popular choice for a reason!
