I chose this model because it had the perfect shaft length that I needed. Before purchasing a replacement, I measured the depth. What I didn't know is that there has to be a seal on the back of the device and then the wave doesn't go that far. I couldn't use a spacer as the shaft would be too short and I wouldn't be able to secure it. So keep in mind that the washer occupies about 1/16" of the effective shaft length of your shaft. In the end, I was able to achieve my goal even though it was very close. So the moral of the story is that you can reach your goal with a can achieve with a shorter rod, but the experience would be more enjoyable with a little more length.
