When I received this lens I was immediately impressed with the build quality. The focus ring is oily and can be rotated with one finger but doesn't wobble. The aperture ring rotates smoothly and makes a pleasant click when switching between apertures. Note: This is a MANUAL lens, meaning you manually set focus and aperture on your lens and ISO and shutter speed on your camera. . If you're not familiar with it, maybe it's time to learn it. I think the lens is great for taking pictures and the manual focus is easy to use. Because it's an ultra wide angle lens, it has a great depth of field and everything from 1m to infinity is sharp when you set the focus to infinity. I found manual focusing a pleasure and I didn't miss a frame. So far I have mainly used this lens for architectural photography. All attached photos were taken with this lens. Saying it's ultra wide isn't entirely clear on how wide. When shooting vertically, you need to be careful not to accidentally put your feet in the frame. When photographing buildings, there may be times when you have a building behind you. You can photograph entire skyscrapers from the sidewalk right in front of them. It's also a lot of fun to play with the fisheye effect since you can make straight lines curved and vice versa. The perspective offered by an 8mm lens is something I think every photographer will love. It gives you a perspective panorama in one shot, which can be a lot of fun. If you like shooting in manual mode and need an ultra wide angle lens, this is the lens for you. And if you don't like manual controls, watch YouTube tutorial videos. you can learn it too.
