Revainrating 5 out of 5

WATERPROOF, easy to use and amazing investment in training

I've had it for 6 months now (July 2020): I'm giving it 5 stars from day one and my experience has only gotten better since then. a week later the remote control fell out of his back pocket in a cow pasture full of tall wild straw. I was desperately looking for it, but I had to give up and rush to work. That night there was a heavy downpour and I lost all hope. I got back on the trail the next day, went further than I remembered and found that it totally works! Undamaged and soaked. I'm thankful for the BRIGHT ORANGE design that helped me find it in the weeds, the rubber tab on the back that seals the charge point from water getting in and the rest of the removed design that is clearly WATERPROOF and it keeps in place. charge well. I would never recommend testing your device this way. but since my area (South Dakota) has pretty extreme weather, I bought it on purpose for its extreme weather design. BTW I have since attached the strap to the GANGCLAMP BOTTOM and have never lost it since. =) The DOG COLLAR is also waterproof thanks to the same rubber tongue. I definitely do NOT recommend electrocuting a dog while swimming etc. Because electricity in water can be deadly (and if you don't know that, you're not smart enough to get a dog). I used to wear collars on my dogs when swimming in the lake, mainly for an audible signal to redirect them to me when they came out. . After a while, when the prog comes loose, I'm a bit more careful with it, but I wasn't at the lake anymore to disturb that. I know some people who use a dab of apoxy to hold the flex in place once the bolts start loosening and it works great for them! I recently lost the program while visiting my parents. Having no spares I called customer service and a package of 3 extras is on the way! (12/17/20). Very convenient. BATTERY: I use the collar for hours almost every day and only need to charge it every few days. I don't turn it on all the time, but it's just in case I have to. Since my pup is an odd THIN, SHORT HAIRED mix (Malamute, Husky, and German Shepherd) I can use the smallest progs and don't have to be too tight. Tight enough to make good contact with the skin, but loose enough that I can rotate it to a new spot every hour or so. He finally got thicker fur after he was a year old (December) so I'll try longer tines when they appear. SHORT TEETH definitely does NOT go with my brother's full bodied mix. This dog coat is insanely long all year round, measuring about 2 inches long. My brother uses a different model with long, narrow teeth that suits him. brother's device. I hated the fact that there was only one action button and you had to change settings between beep, vibrate and shock. It's completely ridiculous to mess around in an emergency where the dog runs away (my personal opinion). ). I LOVE THAT THIS REMOTE HAS SEPARATE SETTINGS FOR EACH ACTION BUTTON! I can press all three in a matter of seconds WITHOUT looking at the settings. THANK YOU DESIGNERS! or if the remote control is too loose and you don't feel anything). Be careful with the Nob as it can rotate slightly when you put it in and take it out of your pocket. Just always look at the 1-100 setting before you press to brake. To be honest, after about 3 tries in MY 4 SECOND TRAINING PATTERN [command-beep-vibration-slap] my pup learned that , if he ignores the command, the impact will always occur 1 second after the vibration. And since then I've almost never had to use electric shocks! I tell younger kids this is my "dog radio" and to be honest this is the one I use the most. (Especially on the frequent 20-40 mph windy days when my dog can't hear my call!) #lifeontheplains This has been an obedience training miracle. Huskies are very optimistic and curious by nature and do not respond well to harsh commands/emergency calls. They are just very confused and try to play or run some more (often in the wrong direction). This cheerful, happy nature makes them incredible winter dogs in inclement weather, but their sense of self-preservation is so contrary to that of hunting/herding dogs that it can be very difficult to teach them anything that is actually dangerous and unacceptable. (For example, ready meals on the highway, giant bulls on our fence, snakes in the fields, traps for live rats and mice, stealing food from my counter, jumping on children and the elderly, etc.). This collar and remote control was such a useful form of communication. I'm so thankful I bought it. INVESTMENT IN YOUR DOGS AND FAMILY FOR YEARS TO COME.
