I had a Grundig G6 Aviator portable shortwave radio for a few years. It was a good radio, but like most small portables, the built-in antenna didn't pick up stations very well. I had previously tried using a Sony coil antenna attached to the built-in antenna but found that it overloaded the radio significantly and didn't help reception at all. Using this antenna with a Grundig antenna connector improved my reception significantly and I happily listened to my little Grundig instead of my large shortwave radios, which I returned to for their superior performance. It should be noted that the diameter of the antenna cable on this antenna is slightly smaller than my other old coil antenna so I don't think it will take much abuse but with a little care I expect it to hold up well.
