Review on πŸ‹ Bogufia Manual Juicer Lemon Lime Squeezer Stainless Steel Hand Pressed Lemon Juicer - Silver by Laura Lucero

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Heavy-duty stainless steel, EZ for low-force use; Handles do not align well and load the pivot.

I ordered this to replace a similar one that had failed after years of accidental use. The pivot that made up the hinge assembly was a weak point that eventually failed. This type of juicer is much easier to use than the old traditional type I have, which screws onto a jar and you twist a half of fruit to collect the juice. I've had metal, plastic, and glass juicers and they all work, but the glass ones seem to work best as the top is heavy enough not to crack like the plastic ones or warp/bend the shape like metal . . The traditional type of juicer is handy when you only need to squeeze a few citrus fruits, but it's cumbersome to use when you have a lot of them. This new type of manual juicer extracts almost all the juice from small to medium-sized fruits using only half a citrus fruit, so you can easily process a large amount of fruit in a very short time, especially when the task is shared between two people, because my hands get tired be able. It only takes about a minute to cut the fruit in half, add it to the juicer, strain it into a bowl or pitcher to drain, and then prepare the other half. I usually peel the citrus in half, flip them, and squeeze them again to get the last bit of juice. It easily takes me five minutes to do the same thing my traditional way, which requires a lot more effort. I only have a few citrus a few times a year, but despite a few downsides (see below), this juicer really saves me time and effort - it's so nice to have freshly squeezed juice and the excess can be stored in the freezer for later . This manual juicer is slightly smaller than my original, but otherwise the configuration is about the same - two heavy-duty stainless steel handles that spread out into a cup; one is made as a solid piece for strength. The large cup is perforated to allow juice to drain into a bowl or pitcher, and the nested smaller cup's exterior is textured to squeeze out more juice; The inside of this mug is smooth. This juicer is heavy and appears to be very reliable, but it's not perfectly constructed; There is a slight offset between the two cups and some wobble. Opening and closing when empty is a bit tight and the handles don't fit perfectly. My old one was like that too and the misalignment got worse over time so I had to stop mid compression and straighten the knobs. It was a bit annoying but I just got used to it and it didn't really take me much time or effort but I'm pretty sure that caused the hinge pin to break. I'm sure the same thing will end up happening with this one. It would be nice if a spare pen was available. If I were dealing with lots of citrus on a regular basis, rather than just a few times a year, I'd probably be looking for a strong commercial stand-up model, but for now that needs to be done. I've noticed that there are some very similar items at different prices, but they all seem to share the same basic design; This seems to be one of the cheaper options so I would buy it.
