Review on Pisces Gunsmoke Aquarium Gravel Medium by Christopher Smith

I bought this gravel because I liked its color. As for the color, I couldn't be happier. This is a stunning natural looking color combo perfect for my Ohio slate theme. However, and this is not to be a criticism, this strain is harsher than I was hoping for. Its texture is more like rubble, sometimes even a bit uneven. My armored catfish, snails and Bolivian sheep like to dig into the substrate in search of food. They don't seem upset about it, but I think it would be much better for them if the level was thinner and smoother. Imagine walking barefoot down a gravel path and you can probably imagine how I'm thinking. I only mention this because it's hard to tell what the texture of the gravel will be just by looking online. To recap, I think this would be a great choice for angelfish, discus and other medium sized fish. . I think this is a bad choice for Corydoras, Geophages, Mollusks, Plecos and other bottom thirds and bottom feeders.
