Review on 🏰 One-Year Furnace at No Toil Castle by Adam Nelson

This filter throttled our home's central heating and air conditioning so that normal airflow was noticeably weaker. Then the house (in Phoenix, Arizona, 108°) was heated to 83° in 2 hours. The air conditioning then switched itself off automatically (due to icing of the coil). I installed one of our regular filters (from Ace) and waited an hour for the ice management system to turn the system on. There are no more problems. .BUT, for most systems this filter can prevent proper airflow. I figured it would need cleaning from time to time (dust build-up can be severe here on windy days), but the outer frame is cardboard so might not be washable . I think if it was used to clean the air in a closed lab it might work... but NOT for a normal heating or cooling system. I think the manufacturer is throwing away something that they couldn't sell in any market that's what it was meant to be. Our regular filters have to be abandoned or are so restrictive that in my opinion since this one failed in a day this filtration is so high that if I could use it it would have to be cleaned weekly.
