Just not designed for long term use

My sister bought this hair dryer and after using it I decided to buy one for myself. When it works the hair dryer is good - for the price it heats well and has plenty of pressure to dry the hair. Exactly what I expected from a hair dryer. I loved it. But after 9 months of daily or every other day my hair dryer stopped working. It won't turn on no matter how hard I try to reset it, no matter how many different outlets I plug in, and no matter how many times I try to reset the outlets myself. This is completely inexplicable as I have never dropped or mistreated a hair dryer. I casually spoke to my sister about this, thinking it was a defect in my personal machine, but to my surprise, she told me that she had been having problems with her hair dryer for several months. Your dryer will only blow at full speed if you flip the switch to the high position and then hold it down. You need to press the button all the time when you want to use the dryer, otherwise it will just blow with weak air. I think John Freida just doesn't make quality machines - not entirely surprising considering the company isn't particularly well known for its mechanical integrity. It's a shame, because at least initially, these hair dryers work really well. Just don't be surprised if it starts breaking after 6-9 months.

  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
