DEFINITELY NOT SHIMANO PD-M324

Yes, it's a cheap fake Shimano Deore T6000 series, specifically the PD-M324. The shaft bearings are very firm when taken out of the box compared to some other pedals. A special short right-angle Allen key is required for disassembly as there is no hole in the sheet metal to access the outer nut. However, the sheet metal is cut to a curve, it should "look" cool, maybe save some weight. A nut access hole at the end of the axle could do the same thing and save the same weight. The center body is die-cast aluminum rather than steel like Shimano. It's good for intermediate and beginner riders, with less weight and less power. I'm 6'2", 240 lbs. Will be added to this post when I break them due to pedaling power. I've had original Shimanos in the past, they look pretty similar and are significantly lighter just not as well made. concerned that the bearings, which will be subjected to hundreds of thousands of rotational cycles, are housed in an aluminum housing.Buy with this in mind first. To be continued.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
