Great features, ease of use and a great deal

The HOLDPEAK HP-770T digital multimeter has some great features that make it a really great multimeter. -- LARGE DISPLAY: I like big numbers that I can easily see from a distance. -- ILLUMINATED DISPLAY: Great feature. The counter is often hidden in the shadows, so I have to turn my head from an awkward position. The backlight is a great convenience. -- FUNCTIONS ALSO ILLUMINATED: The functions at each position of the selection knob are also highlighted by a small indicator at the end of the selection wheel. -- AUTO OFF: I like this feature. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to turn off the multimeter, only to find it dead the next time I picked it up to use. After a few seconds of inattention, the counter turns off. -- ACCURACY: I have no way of measuring accuracy in all functions, but I can say it measured identically to a calibrated multimeter, at least for AC voltage. - HOLD THE MAGNET: Another great advantage is the neodymium magnet on the back, which allows you to attach it to a suitable surface while measuring. - LONG TERMINALS: The wires are 44 inches long. The long length reaches an awkward spot and keeps the gauge visible. -- BATTERY SUPPLIED: Yes, I didn't have to walk to buy a 9V battery. -- TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT: Equipped with a temperature probe for monitoring -- LARGE SENSORS: The probes are a good size, easy to use, move very precisely and have a cap that provides a secure grip. Important if you are tinkering with 120V AC circuits. -- LARGE METER: The meter is large and solid, with good texture. BAD: - CAN USE THE TEMPERATURE AND THE METER AT THE SAME TIME: The temperature sensor uses the same return as the multimeter's sensors, so you can't use both at the same time. simultaneously. -- BATTERY COMPARTMENT Screws loose: The tiny screws that hold the battery compartment closed didn't catch on the compartment so they fall out when loosened. You are guaranteed to lose them as I did the very first time I put the battery in. CONCLUSION: The good hits a few nits on this counter, and at $23 this seems like a great deal.
