I have used a Powermaster on older Chevy engines in the past. Good gear starters. This one is different. The clearance between the starter gear and the flexible plate is 0.020-0.035 inches. This one is .062 inch without spacers. It's called Powermaster. They said the starter needs to be edited to close the gap. The local machine shop didn't want that. I decided to screw the old regular starter gm. Without the spacer it was 0.025 inches! There are also many more header gaps. Send this back for a gm/ac delco starter. There will be no high torque gearbox but I think everything will be fine.
