I bought this as a special device in my ambulance bag. Splinters are fairly common among people who work outdoors, as are thorns from cactus and berry bushes. The idea of the device is great, but there is no quality control. The first photo shows how the tools are not screwed into the pipe to the end. Photo 2 shows them working in the working position. I don't think the hose is twisted deep enough inside. The lancet also fits correctly on one side of the tube. as in photo #3. However, if you look at photo #4 you can clearly see that the thread is damaged, probably from some type of tool holding it during sharpening and polishing. Or all threads could be cast and never finished with a die. Photos five, six, and seven show the working end of a pair of tweezers, useful for moving torn flesh but useless for something as small as a splinter. I'll keep the kit, but I believe that with a tap, I can save some of the pipe and tweezers for hobby use. I would not recommend anyone to buy it in the condition it is in now.
