I use Zerust Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) tablets wherever there is a risk of corrosion of ferrous metal tools or parts. If you are unfamiliar with VCI technology, products release a vapor that molecularly binds to metals to prevent oxidation or corrosion. Fumes bind only to metals and are harmless to plastics and other non-metallic materials. They are the smallest version of the Zerust range and are best suited for protecting tools, parts or items that are stored in a small space. For example, they work great in tackle boxes to protect hooks and lures from rusting or corrosion. I have screwdriver sets that come in small cases. I can protect them by sticking one of the plastabs in the case. Stored items are protected for 2 years before you need to replace them.
