This big litter box saved a life (and legs). I have two cats and two litter boxes, and one of their litter boxes (which I also highly recommend - Nature's Miracle Improved Hooded Corner Tray (P-5915)) is a corner box in the corner of my carpeted guest bedroom. . Both of my cats manage to carry a lot of litter out of the box so I decided to put this rug underneath. This almost prevented dirt from getting into the surrounding carpet, which I often walk on (and would get annoyed if I walked on trash). It's also easy to vacuum in and around the rug, and I've found that I rarely have to move the entire rug (which wasn't the case with my older, smaller rugs). I'll say one thing: I don't know if the mat will be as effective when used with two trays as in the photo. Depends on what you are looking for I guess.
