I have two new kittens that I would like to have as house cats but I know how much it means to them to be outside having had cats for many years. So a harness and leash is the answer, but the trick is to combine them and get used to it. This is a good starter strap. It comes in many sizes and for a new kitten who has become accustomed to wearing a harness it is very easy to put on (although you may have to be pretty quick the first few times! :) ). I started out with them being a bit loose and they can actually twist out when they get scared but they get used to wearing them as the harness is so light and not restrictive. If you find that as your cat ages you need something more substantial, this is still a good topic to train her on. But I don't think I'll need to replace this with a heavier, more restrained device once they get used to it.
