Review on The Flash X-Tender Better Beamer FX-6: Enhancing Nikon SB-900 Flash Output by Cody Bowie

I'm a semi-professional bird photographer ([.]) and was very impressed with the results I get with the Better Beamer in combination with the SB-900 when using Super Telephoto lenses (e.g. 500mm s teleconverter 1.7x). At close enough range, the Better Beamer emits enough light to fully illuminate the subject, allowing images to be captured that were previously unavailable. This gave me a great shot of a spotted Tauhi in dense undergrowth, which would have been almost impossible without a flash as the exposure was metered to 1/15s before the flash fired. With the Better Beamer and the SB-900 you can not only take pictures in low light conditions. I use the +Beamer flash on 99% of my wildlife photography - even on the brightest days - because it gives great fill light, reduces shadows and slows down movement. A highly recommended accessory!
