After the fan and filter were installed I first noticed that the speed controller doesn't change the speed of the fan at all, the fan only worked for a minute or two when I tried throttled the speed with the regulator and noticed a metallic burning smell, I quickly shut off the power but it was too late, the exhaust fan was obviously smoking and wouldn't come on (and every time after that). Not to mention this poses a huge fire hazard, I believe the product is defective. I followed the T installation instructions, the manual even recommends leaving the fan on for 30 minutes to see if there are any overheating issues. I think if I did that my house would burn down. The only requirement and potential issue I haven't been able to test in the setup is "insulation resistance". The instructions do not indicate how to test this or what is required to do so. The instructions state that this is only required. if the product has been stored for six months, but where can I find this information? For a consumer product, these instructions were particularly vague and seemed to require a level of knowledge that I didn't expect when purchasing this product. Per!
