You may be wondering, "why do I even need this since my phone is already wireless?" Ok, I'll try to answer that with my use case. Sometimes my ISP goes down unexpectedly. My router doesn't seem to care if my cable modem or this dongle connected to my Pixel 5 in hotspot mode is connected to the WAN port. It simply picks up traffic and forwards it. So if my cable modem decides to dance with the LEDs, I can just switch to my phone until it figures it out. Also handy during power outages when I'm on a generator (my ISP only seems to have a 30 minute backup). Can't beat $15 for a piece of mind.
