I would highly recommend this shampoo/conditioner to anyone trying to reduce copper tones in their light brown to pale orange hair. I do not recommend it to anyone who has yellow or white hair. Here is my experience with this product: I was trying to drastically lighten my dark brown hair. During several bleaching sessions I had different shades of orange. I used this shampoo so I wouldn't look too crazy for work. For dark orange hair (level 5 or 6) I left this shampoo on my hair for about 2 minutes before rinsing it out. I saw almost no difference. I tried again the next day and left it on for 7 minutes. My hair looked darker and browner in the room light. However, the sharpness of the orange in bright daylight wasn't much different. (Note: I used a blue-based toner before using the shampoo. The shampoo had more impact.) On light orange hair with yellow highlights (level 6-8), I left this shampoo on for about 5 minutes. . It definitely reduced the harshness of the orange. However, this made my hair look darker overall and the yellow strands took on a green tint. This was very noticeable under fluorescent lights and daylight. (Note: I used a blue and ash based toner prior to using the product. They helped a little but this shampoo still made all the difference). bring my hair to level 7 (very pale pumpkin) orange. I used an ash blonde and an ash blue level 7 toner on my hair. There were no more yellow stains, but there was still a very heavy copper stain. I left this shampoo on for about 7 minutes before rinsing it out. I applied it for 5 minutes the next two times I washed my hair. After the third wash I was very happy with how the shampoo changed the color of my hair. Orange turned to lighter ash brown (level 6 to 7). KEY FINDINGS: Only use this product on brown or orange hair. Do not use on light, yellow or white hair. Find out how long you need to leave it on to see results. Expect your hair to appear a little darker. Don't expect dramatic results. You can create color by using shampoo several times in a row. Other Reviews: Shampoo is basically a temporary dye. It can stain clothing or objects. Rinses out after 1-3 washes, even with a mild salon quality shampoo. The conditioner contains very little dye - not enough to make a big difference on its own. The shampoo is a bit drying but I was able to use it on my bleached, damaged hair without making the situation worse. The conditioner doesn't moisturize very much. It's good for normal hair but not enough to bleach damaged hair. Once you achieve a saturated color, you may need to use this shampoo once or twice a week (if you wash your hair daily). So I would say it's worth the price.
