This is a great vacuum. Worth every penny. It was very difficult for me to choose between this one and Alize and to be honest I'm still not sure if I made the best choice but I'll give my reasons here. Alize is without a doubt a more complex machine. The wheels are quieter, it has all these fancy automatic settings, it has a button and light that the Kalima doesn't have. For people who only use this on hardwoods and low-pile carpets, this is without a doubt the best choice. Calima has the best accessory, which is a special brush for hard floors, which is amazing. This brush can be bought for Alize for $70, but Calima already has it. The reason I bought the Calima is because I now have all the hardwoods and wanted this tool right away. I would have to spend an extra $70 to get it with Alize. I can also convert my machine for high-pile carpets in the future. This can easily be done with either machine, and when the time comes, you get a handle AND a light. Which negates some of Alize's advantages. After all, I don't care about automatic settings. They claim they're more energy efficient, and maybe they are, but the auto setting isn't great for curtains (I do half the vacuuming. My cats LOVE my curtains). So for me, Calima was the best choice in my particular situation. But for most people I think Alize will really be the best bang for your buck.
