Easy to use, too loose for resin

Pros: Good price, lots of stuff! Very gentle formula if you don't measure accurately Very dense, firm result once cured No worries about air bubbles Cons: Messy, especially if you use small amounts at a time Looser than the standard silicone mold you can buy, more like a rubber mold. t cures in 6 hours as stated. I bought this for my resin crafts and it's too loose for that purpose. I tore a stain into one of the molds I made on my first use when removing my resin bandage from the mold. My other molds have survived multiple pours, but I don't think they'll last forever. When demolding, I have to be very careful not to stretch the rubber too much. I also make small casts, mostly for jewelry, so I use about 2 ounces at a time. These are large pour cans and inevitably some drips down the sides and it is very slippery and sticky unless mixed 1:1. Both cans now have a slippery surface (I have about 6 ounces left in cans), and they must be kept in a plastic container so as not to damage the surface on which they sit. The label says they have a short expiry date so I use them as soon as possible; However it's been about a week now and as long as I seal the jars carefully after use they still seem to be working fine. just went ahead and used the sparkling mixture. I haven't had any problems with air bubbles ruining the shape. After a few uses I started using a heat gun and just wiped it across the surface to pop the biggest bubbles on it - literally just wave it like you're using it longer, the surface will start to harden (and then am I fear that the air cannot escape under the hardened skin surface). I've checked my molds repeatedly even after 6 hours and they still feel sticky and can't be removed. I leave them overnight and in the morning (around 10am) they are set. It's not a problem for me, but if you're buying this and expecting it to be up and running in 6 hours, it's not. All in all a good product! However, if you're using resin, you probably need something more flexible.

Pros
  • FAST CURING AND CURING TIME: This compound takes no more than 30 minutes to cure at room temperature with no noticeable shrinkage and a 6 hour cure time. Store the products at room temperature for maximum results!
Cons
  • Big and chunky
