Let me start by saying that I am a machinist and know a thing or two about heat treating metal and press fitting. The description says it is heat treated carbon steel and I believe that is true. To be honest I don't think it's possible to break it. Replacing ball joints on my 2008 Ford F150 was a breeze! Buying this product is worth it, you won't regret it!
