Great battery drain solution

I have a 20 year old Toyota 4-Runner that I still drive almost every day including two recent trips across the US. of unknown source and sometimes the battery would completely drain if left there for several days. First, I installed a kill switch on the battery post, lifted the hood, and cycled the battery when I wanted to use the SUV. Over time this became even more of a nuisance, especially when it was raining outside. I was tired of manually turning the battery off and on again and was looking for a better solution. This switch worked great the first time. The biggest problem with installing this switch is finding the right way to install it and then finding a spot under the hood to install it. In my case, I cut out a 6" x 7" piece of thick sheet metal, drilled holes for a large electromechanical switch and small remote control box, and installed a panel on the inside end of the battery compartment. As a result, all cable lengths are quite short and the installation is compact and clean. I bought a new cable so I don't have to cut the factory installed cable. Eventually I will add a manual switch to bypass this device in case it fails sometime in the future when I'm not at home. The instructions were short, concise and easy to follow and I love this device.
