Open/Laundry-I won't sleep on unwashed sheets so we noticed an unpleasant odor when we put them in the washing machine, I use a detergent method; It's great, eco-friendly and smells amazing. But that didn't help enough. So I did a bath and another gentle cycle. It wasn't as strong, but still noticeable. Tossed them in the dryer with the linens, hoping it would help, but it didn't. We put them on the bed anyway, they fit perfectly. I have this sleep therapy pillow spray which is great and relaxing so I put it on it. I could still smell the smell when we went to bed. Comfort / breathability. As I said, I had to wash them twice right after opening them, they are not as soft as linen. Cotton isn't the right combination in my opinion and to be honest it feels like softer, spiky wool. Rather harsh than gentle. I live on the Gulf Coast, my AC is on 70 when it's time for bed. I'm one of those people who like to hide under the covers to keep warm. My friend sleeps hot and sweats. That's why I made the purchase. But they didn't help, he was sweating and I was disappointed. Even I felt warm underneath. Materials. I noticed a snag in the sheet as I placed it on the mattress. I could also see the tag and trim on the sides of my mattress directly through the sheet. It should be the lowest acceptable quality of either material. CURRENT - I completely forgot to change my sheets today. It was Mother's Day and I was busy with my baby. I'm too tired to replace it all. So here I am, writing this review, having just submitted a return request for the most uncomfortable, smelly sheets I have ever lain on. To be honest I'm going to sleep in my six year old crib tonight because my skin itches just lying on it. I can't even get past Night 2. Really don't waste time. It's not comfortable, it's beautiful. Not comfortable.
