As for appearance, the idea looks good. They also look like they are handmade which is another bonus. However, something is wrong with the threads that hold the caps in place, at least on my pair. Without exaggerating, it took me about 5 minutes to put each one together, even though they were both empty. I can only imagine what a pain it would be if they were loaded with salt or pepper. The threads are flat and do not like to bite. Everything has to be perfectly aligned and parallel, and Jupiter has to line up with Saturn or your frustration will grow. I also don't like that you can't grind peppercorns with the pepper shaker. Pepper flakes that are a few days old taste like glass.
