Know the difference and which one to look for for your vehicle. Everyday drivers who are not high-performance vehicles usually feel better with hydraulic shock absorbers. Gas shock absorbers are designed for fast rebound. However, you can usually pick up a Monroe or KYB at your local auto parts store for $30 each and there is absolutely no difference.
