This is a very strong mount that I use with wide angle, medium zoom and fixed focal length lenses (ie note that when gimbaling vertically with these types of lenses you don't need a Choice than mounting the short leg of the L bracket at a 90 degree angle to the stabilizer QR plate This bracket gives me a lot of options on where to attach its short leg to the QR plate. However, the short leg can block access to some of the ports on the side of the camera, but I was able to easily mount the QR plate to a different point on the mount if I needed access to the port to be connected to the gimbal. You can only use these with a ball head.) Once connected to my camera and the gimbal's QR plate (and you m (You need to make sure you tighten the screws with a screwdriver or a coin as finger tightening won't give you enough torque), this is a solid setup for specialty vertical shooting on a gimbal. With these "small" lenses, I get all the benefits of a vertical stabilizer, just like when shooting horizontally. I want to reiterate that this is for SPECIAL shots with vertical alignment on the stabilizer. There is no quick change from horizontal to vertical and back like with the L-bracket on the ball head. You must physically remove and reattach the mount to change the orientation. But for my application it's ok.
